Mastering DBE Recertification Workshops: Personal Narrative & Net Worth Statements

Recent changes under the DBE Interim Final Rule have introduced new, more rigorous recertification requirements, making accuracy and clarity more important than ever. Two of the most critical, and often challenging, components are the Personal Narrative and Personal Net Worth Statement, both of which play a significant role in determining eligibility.

This two-part workshop series is designed to help you navigate these updates with confidence and ensure your recertification submission is complete, compliant, and compelling.

Please Note: This series is exclusively for DBE firms.

Recent updates to the Interim Final Rule now require a personal narrative as part of DBE recertification – a step that can significantly impact your approval if not completed correctly.

Join Attorney Susan Dawson for this hands-on, interactive workshop designed to help you craft a clear, compelling, and compliant personal narrative that supports your recertification goals. With extensive experience guiding DBE firms through the certification process, Susan will help you:

  • Identify and document experiences of disadvantage or discrimination.
  • Establish a clear timeline and connection to economic harm.
  • Organize and structure your personal narrative effectively

The Personal Net Worth (PNW) Statement is a key part of the DBE certification process – and often the most challenging. Accuracy is essential, as incomplete or incorrect information can delay or jeopardize your application.

In this interactive session, Robert Jones will walk you through the essentials of completing your PNW Statement confidently and correctly. Topics include:

  • Understanding current maximum PNW limits
  • Calculating personal net worth accurately
  • Identifying included and excluded assets and liabilities
  • Avoiding common errors that impact certification outcomes

Gain the clarity and confidence you need to complete your PNW Statement with precision and compliance.
