Stambaugh Ness Launches AEC Financial Leadership Awards
New award program recognizes CFOs and Financial Leaders Driving Growth in the AEC Industry
Stambaugh Ness (SN), in partnership with Zweig Group, is proud to announce the launch of the AEC Financial Leadership Awards, also known as the Finnies, a new industry recognition program celebrating outstanding financial leaders within architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) firms.
Behind every high-performing AEC firm is exceptional financial leadership, and now, the industry has a platform to recognize it.
The Finnies honor CFOs, Finance Directors, Controllers, and other senior financial professionals who go beyond traditional financial management to serve as strategic advisors, growth partners, and catalysts for long-term success. This award highlights individuals who demonstrate excellence in financial strategy, operational insight, risk management, and cross-functional leadership to help their firms navigate change, drive value, and achieve sustainable growth.
“Financial leaders play a critical role in shaping the future for AEC firms,” said Jennifer Nelson, CFO of Stambaugh Ness. “The Finnies were created to spotlight those individuals who are not only managing the numbers, but influencing strategy, driving performance, and making a measurable impact on their organizations.”
Award Categories & Eligibility
The Finnies will be awarded to up to three deserving financial leaders based on firm size:
- Small Firm: Under $10 million in annual revenue.
- Mid-sized Firm: $10 – $50 million in annual revenue.
- Large Firm: Over $50 million in annual revenue.
To be eligible, nominees must hold a senior finance role at an AEC firm and have demonstrated significant leadership and impact within the past two years.
Nominations & Recognition
Nominations are open now through June 12, 2026, and there is no cost to submit. Individuals may nominate peers or themselves. A panel of judges will evaluate nominations, and finalists will be announced in late July, with winners revealed live at the ElevateAEC Conference, September 29 – October 1, 2026, in Park City, UT.
